Music speaks to every individual differently. These six songs, however, have connected to me above the rest in a very special way. All of these pieces have very symbolic lyrics that have spoken to generations of listeners. I can connect to these lyrics very well because they are very relatable and empowering. For me, the best aspect of these songs are that they are extremely comforting. All the artists of these pieces write about love, hope, and perseverance. I really enjoy this aspect and attempt to exemplify in my personality. I also enjoy how these song lyrics are written about those with undying love for someone or something. The singers' show how much they can care for something even in times of darkness. I think this is a great example of my life. Even though some things become difficult, I can always count on someone to guide me through it. This is shown through these songs.
I found these songs in, my opinion, the best way possible. I found some by sharing them with my friends who are very close to me. The rest, though, I found singing with my choir in high school. This is the reason that the songs "I'll Fly Away" from O Brother, Where Art Thou and "Seasons of Love" from Rent are so personal to me. I believe that music takes on a different level of meaning for a person when it is sung with a choir. I was lucky enough to sing those two songs with my choir which created a special connection for me. It was an amazing experience to be able to sing these songs with my choir. We all learned how to create music on a different level, and leave an impression to those who had never heard the songs before. Even now, returning to high school my choir has said that there favorite songs had been "I'll Fly Away" from O Brother, Where Art Thou and "Seasons of Love" from Rent. It's a great feeling to know that even though we all will eventually go our separate ways that we still have music that brings us together.
I like that all of your songs have specific meanings to you, and that you even look into the lyrics and how they relate to you. That's also really cool that you got a chance to sing some of these songs! O brother, where art thou is a great movie too. one of my favorite!
